DESCALMA is the “practical cousin” of our beloved CALMA, but with caffeine. Infused with passion fruit pulp, it shares the same tropical vibe, designed for coffee lovers who don’t want to compromise on flavor, even on the go. Slip a few drip bags into your bag or backpack and always have a special coffee moment within reach.
How it works
Just like a tea bag:
- Place the drip bag in your cup.
- Pour 240 ml of hot water (95ºC).
- Dunk it 4 or 5 times.
- Let it steep for 5 minutes.
- Remove, sip, and enjoy.
Each sachet = one perfect cup.
About the Producer
Finca Monteblanco is a 14-hectare family-run farm located in the San Adolfo region of Huila, Colombia, managed by Rodrigo Sánchez Valencia alongside his wife Claudia Samboni, their daughter Nathalia, and farm manager Don Gerardo. Nestled beside the Cueva de los Guácharos National Natural Park and the Suaza River Valley, the farm benefits from rich biodiversity and ideal environmental conditions.
Monteblanco is renowned for its dedication to producing exceptional coffees, cultivating varieties such as Geisha, Pink Bourbon, Pacamara, and Purple Caturra. Since 2017, Rodrigo has united six family farms under Aromas del Sur, which also includes their own dry mill in Pitalito.
Tropical Fermentation Process
The Tropical process begins by creating a mother culture: microorganisms are isolated and added to a mix of pineapple, passion fruit, orange, and mango. Fed with panela and sugar, this culture grows in sweetness and complexity before being used in the coffee fermentation.
Once harvested, cherries are pulped and placed in 200-liter sealed tanks with the culture for 150 hours. Carefully monitored Brix and pH levels ensure the fruit flavors shine through without overpowering the coffee’s natural character. The result? A vibrant cup with bright tropical notes, balanced body, and remarkable drinkability.
