From the highlands of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, Ovalle is a regional coffee grown at 1,750 MASL by a community of around 400 smallholder farms working alongside producers Renardo and Jacqueline Ovalle. Named in their honor, this coffee represents years of close collaboration and a shared commitment to quality.

Ovalle is a cornerstone of the Qawale project, an agronomic, technical, logistical and financial support programme built for the coffee community of Huehuetenango. The project rests on three pillars: better remuneration based on quality, hands-on training for producers, and a reliable logistical solution for collecting the coffee. Thanks in part to the quality premium the project provides, many of the participating farms have made coffee their sole source of income.

Washed at origin, this coffee develops a clean, bright character. Expect a cup with vibrant citrus fruit, notes of cocoa, and a rounded natural sweetness — a profile that's both lively and comforting.

Process Information

The Washed process removes the fruit from the coffee seed before drying, resulting in a cleaner, brighter cup that lets the bean's inherent character shine through. The result is a coffee with clarity and balance, reflecting the care and precision of the Qawale project's producers.
